{"id":578569,"date":"2010-05-25T16:42:24","date_gmt":"2010-05-25T20:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/marc-faber-central-banks-will-not-tighten-rates-ever-again-2010-5"},"modified":"2010-05-25T16:42:24","modified_gmt":"2010-05-25T20:42:24","slug":"marc-faber-central-banks-will-not-tighten-rates-ever-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/578569","title":{"rendered":"Marc Faber: Central Banks Will Not Tighten Rates Ever Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"float_right\" src=\"http:\/\/static.businessinsider.com\/image\/4b5989700000000000b43cc1-339-254\/marc-faber.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"marc faber\" width=\"339\" height=\"254\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Marc Faber gave a presentation at the <a href=\"http:\/\/mises.org\/\">Mises Institute Conference in Manhattan<\/a> today, and <a href=\"http:\/\/biggovernment.com\/amellon\/2010\/05\/23\/faber-nations-will-print-money-go-bust-go-to-war-we-are-doomed\/\">Andrew Mellon at BigGovernment.com<\/a> (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailycrux.com\/\">The Daily Crux<\/a>) was on hand to take notes.<\/p>\n<p>Among his points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Central banks will never tighten monetary policy again, merely  print, print, print<\/li>\n<li>Bubbles used to be concentrated in 1 sector or region in the 19th century, but off of the gold standard this concentration has ended<\/li>\n<li>&ldquo;The lifetime achievement of Greenspan and Bernanke is really that  they created a bubble in everything&hellip;everywhere.&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>&ldquo;You have to ask what they were smoking at the Federal Reserve,&rdquo; during the housing bubble, as prices were increasing by 18% annually when interest rates started to steadily rise in 2004<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As for the top one, it seems extreme, but we&#8217;re beginning to believe that, as both the ECB and the Fed are probably both in loosening mode, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/the-next-round-of-global-rate-cuts-begins-any-moment-now-2010-5\">and markets are predicting rate cuts in Australia<\/a>.
