Bulleted content will follow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> Are you in or are you out on <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7701\/\">Anibal Sanchez<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7701\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.7701\">(notes)<\/a>?<\/span> He&#8217;s quietly won three games in a row, with the latest coming Tuesday against the Braves (6.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 6 K), and he&#8217;s still out there in about 85 percent of Yahoo leagues. Let&#8217;s take a look under the hood. <\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 3.23 ERA over nine starts sounds decent, but the underlying stats don&#8217;t jump out at you: he&#8217;s only striking out 6.79 batters per nine innings; his strikeout\/walk rate is barely over two; he&#8217;s getting by with a ridiculous 1.6 HR\/FB rate, an obvious fluke. Sanchez&#8217;s fastball hasn&#8217;t been a plus pitch for him so far, but he&#8217;s getting a lot of mileage out of an improved slider. You can start Sanchez on the weekend against Philadelphia if you like; I&#8217;m not going to recommend it. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> Don&#8217;t look now but the Cardinals aren&#8217;t doing much on offense; they&#8217;ve only scored 196 runs for the year (tied for ninth in the National League) and they were shut out in San Diego Tuesday by <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/6396\/\">Jon Garland<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/6396\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.6396\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> and Company. <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7048\/\">Adam Wainwright<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7048\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.7048\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> was the hard-luck loser in Southern California, despite a one-run effort and <a href=\"http:\/\/stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com\/video\/play.jsp?content_id=8357963\">12 strikeouts<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7790\/\">Jon Lester<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7790\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.7790\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> threw six bagels at the Rays, allowing just one hit and striking out nine. He was helped by Bob Davidson&#8217;s cushy strike zone, much to the dismay of <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/6870\/\">Carl Crawford<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/6870\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.6870\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> (ejected) and Joe Maddon (ejected). Crawford made mild (and accidental) contact with Davidson and <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20100525&amp;content_id=10426894&amp;vkey=news_mlb&amp;fext=.jsp&amp;c_id=mlb\">might be looking at a suspension<\/a>. <a name=\"remaining-content\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&bull;<\/strong> <span class=\"ysp-player\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7845\/\">Chris Iannetta<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mlb\/players\/7845\/news\" class=\"ysp_playernote_icon\" id=\"ysp_playernote_mlb.p.7845\">(notes)<\/a><\/span> is back in Colorado, hopefully with his confidence restored &#8211; he posted a .349\/.447\/.698 line in 17 minor-league games, along with five homers.
