Well what good is that information if you don\u2019t know how to use it? I\u2019ll tell you, it isn\u2019t any good at all! So in the post, I will tell you how to setup a softphone in Windows so you can make inbound and outbound calls using your Magicjack number without having to use the USB dongle! Not to mention, you can set this up on multiple computers!<\/p>\n<p>Once again I want to re-iterate that this violates Magicjack\u2019s TOS. This article is purely for informational purposes, and I accept no liability if you get your Magicjack account pulled because you want to screw the man!<\/p>\n<p>With that little bit of legal mumbo jumbo out of the way, lets get together the stuff you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bauer-power.net\/2010\/05\/how-to-hack-your-magicjack-to-make.html\" >Magicjack username and password<\/a> <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.counterpath.com\/x-lite.html\" >XLite softphone<\/a> <\/li>\n<li><a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.bauer-power.net\/misc\/magicjack\/MJMD5.zip\" >MJMD5<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No, I didn\u2019t mention this in the last post, but you can\u2019t simply use your Magicjack username and password by itself to make inbound and outbound calls. The reason being is the way Magicjack does authentication. Now correct me if I am wrong, but what I gather is Magicjack takes your password and combines it with the proxy for your city and creates an MD5 hash. It then uses that hash to authenticate with the proxy. If you don\u2019t have that hash, you cannot authenticate, and thus cannot make calls. That is where<strong> MJMD5<\/strong> comes in.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Go ahead and download<strong> MJMD5<\/strong> and run it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Enter <strong>5070 <\/strong>for both the listening and the forwarding port. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Enter your local proxy (<strong><em>proxy01.&lt;yourcity&gt;.talk4free.com<\/em><\/strong>)<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Enter your Majicjack password <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Save your settings<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Click Start<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/_jLaEIqL6T8Y\/S_wdWn7x2MI\/AAAAAAAACbw\/VOj--71dDj0\/s1600-h\/MJMD5%5B9%5D.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"MJMD5\" alt=\"MJMD5\" src=\"http:\/\/lh3.ggpht.com\/_jLaEIqL6T8Y\/S_wdXWxVZ6I\/AAAAAAAACb0\/CXAW5UQbNZw\/MJMD5_thumb%5B7%5D.png?imgmax=800\" width=\"381\" border=\"0\" height=\"329\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>With that running, download and install Xlite\u2019s free softphone on the same computer and enter the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Display Name: Whatever you want<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Username: Magicjack Username (<strong><em>E&lt;yourphonenumber&gt;01<\/em><\/strong>)<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Password: Your Magicjack password<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Authorization user name: Magicjack Username (<strong><em>E&lt;yourphonenumber&gt;01<\/em><\/strong>)<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Domain: <strong><em>127.0.0.1:5070<\/em><\/strong><\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Check <strong><em>Register with domain to receive incoming calls<\/em><\/strong><\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Select the <strong><em>domain<\/em><\/strong> radio button<\/span> <\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 255);\">Click Apply then OK<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lh6.ggpht.com\/_jLaEIqL6T8Y\/S_wdYMSFj4I\/AAAAAAAACb4\/O1RNDzTd77Y\/s1600-h\/xlite%5B10%5D.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px none; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"xlite\" alt=\"xlite\" src=\"http:\/\/lh4.ggpht.com\/_jLaEIqL6T8Y\/S_wdY0lgELI\/AAAAAAAACb8\/SB3XZXrgQvE\/xlite_thumb%5B8%5D.png?imgmax=800\" width=\"391\" border=\"0\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That is it! Now you can make inbound and outbound calls without your Magicjack USB dongle in Windows.
