Sweet potatoes are extremely perishable so you&#8217;ll want to take some special steps to store them.<\/p>\n<p>Wipe the dirt from the sweet potatoes but don&#8217;t wash them, since any moisture on them will cause them to spoil faster. <\/p>\n<p>Sweet potatoes should not be refrigerated.  They should be kept in a cool, dry, dark place like a cabinet, pantry, or cellar.  If the temperature is 50 to 60 degrees in the storage space they should last up to a month.  If kept at room temperature, they will last a week or less.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have wiped off the dirt, place them in a cardboard box lined with paper or in a paper bag with an apple inside.
