Crystal Bowersox isn’t just adapting to her role as an American Idol<\/em> runner-up — the soulful single mom is also adjusting to life as a single woman. <\/span><\/p>\n

In a surprising piece of news stemming from the A.I.<\/em> finale showdown, Bowersox — who lost the crown to paint salesman Lee DeWyze in last week’s Idol<\/em> grand finale — has revealed that she split with her boyfriend just hours before Tuesday night’s three-piece performance show. The two parted ways Tuesday with Tony traveling back to their hometown of Toledo, Ohio a single man.<\/p>\n

“Big Tony…he went home. He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,”<\/em> Crystal told Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM morning show on Thursday. “I didn’t break up with him…it was a mutual thing. It’s cool though, we’re both logical, grown adults,”<\/em> said Bowersox. “He’s a small town guy and that’s fine, I’m a small town girl, but I want this. I want this more than anything, this career, this lifestyle. I didn’t think he was up for it…he didn’t think he was up for it.”<\/p>\n

“I was a little sad that he did it on performance day, but then again it set that fire to my belly.”<\/em><\/p>\n
