However, even after being the most abundant element in the universe, producing hydrogen that can later be used as fuel is in itself a dangerous process. <a href=\"http:\/\/solarlab.org\/\">SolarLab Research and Design<\/a> has come up with the Hydrogen Powerplant, a concept powerplant that can be one of the safest and the most efficient ways to create hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.instablogsimages.com\/images\/2009\/12\/03\/solarlab-hydrogen-powerplant_2_qJrS3_69.jpg\" alt=\"solarlab hydrogen powerplant_2\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The offshore power plant is designed to make use of seawater, a fuel cell and solar tiles to produce hydrogen that is then pumped safely to inflated hydrogen tanks fixed on the sea floor. The water-cooling effect reduces operating temperature and increases PV efficiency by up to 30%. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.instablogsimages.com\/images\/2009\/12\/03\/solarlab-hydrogen-powerplant_3_vsFY1_69.jpg\" alt=\"solarlab hydrogen powerplant_3\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Since hydrogen is stored underwater, the design eliminates explosion risks, as water naturally pressurizes the system at the ideal level.
