{"id":62324,"date":"2009-12-03T23:51:36","date_gmt":"2009-12-04T04:51:36","guid":{"rendered":"tag:www.vegan-food.net:\/\/7d0f09f399f625fe230a8b29f57ea287"},"modified":"2009-12-03T23:51:36","modified_gmt":"2009-12-04T04:51:36","slug":"buddhas-chicken-meat-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/62324","title":{"rendered":"Buddha&#8217;s Chicken( Meat &#8211; Chicken )"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Daily Random Recipe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul><UL><\/p>\n<li>3 large sheets fresh yuba (bean curd skin) about 16 inches \/ 40 cm in diameter, cut in<br \/>\nhalf, <u>or<\/u> 3 large rectangular sheets dried yuba <\/p>\n<li>1\/3 vegetarian broth\n<li>1 1\/2 T light soy sauce\n<li>2 t unrefined sugar\n<li>1\/2 T roasted sesame oil\n<li>Oil for deep frying\n<p><\/UL><\/ul>\n<p \/><strong>METHOD:<\/strong><br \/>If using the dried yuba, handle the sheets carefully and soak in warm water<br \/>\nfor 5-10 minutes. Pat them dry and cut in half. <\/p>\n<p>\nMix the broth, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil in a small saucepan and heat<br \/>\nuntil the sugar is dissolved. Pour into a bowl and allow to cool slightly <\/p>\n<p>\nSpread a 12 x 6 inch (30 x 15 cm) piece of fine cheesecloth or thin white cotton sheeting<br \/>\nover a cookie sheet. Place a half-sheet of the fresh or reconstituted dried<br \/>\nyuba on the sheet. <\/p>\n<p>\nBrush the yuba with soy sauce mixture. Cover with another piece of yuba and<br \/>\nbrush. Repeat until all of the yuba and sauce is used up. If there is some<br \/>\nsauce left over, pour it over the yuba and brush evenly towards the edges.<br \/>\nRoll the stacks of sheets into a compact cylinder and wrap it in the cloth.<br \/>\nTie ends with white string. Steam the roll, covered, over boiling water for 10<br \/>\nminutes. <\/p>\n<p>\nRemove carefully and cut the roll into 4 sections, diagonally. Heat the oil<br \/>\n350F\/180C in wok or skillet, or deep fryer. Drop in the rolls, standing back to<br \/>\navoid splattering and deep fry until golden brown. This will take only a few<br \/>\nseconds. Drain the rolls on paper.<br \/>\np><br \/>\nTo serve, slice diagonally into 1\/2 inch \/ 13 mm rounds and serve hot or cold. <\/p>\n<p \/><strong>NOTES:<\/strong><br \/>This is a traditional yuba (bean curd skin) recipe used by Chinese Buddhist<br \/>\nvegetarians. It makes a delicious appetizer. Leftovers can be chopped and used<br \/>\nin dim-sum stuffings or rice and noodle dishes. If you use fresh yuba, which<br \/>\nneeds no soaking, this dish is very quick to prepare.
