Software product development services company Altoros Systems said that\u00a0Hadoop clusters on Joyent Cloud produced a nearly 3X faster disk I\/O response time versus identically-sized infrastructure.\u00a0Through the use of the Joyent operating system virtualization and CPU bursting technology, Joyent says it is able to extract better response times and deliver results to data scientists and analysts faster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pioneering a new era of big data and our Hadoop offering is just the start of our 2013 agenda,\u201d said Jason Hoffman, CTO and Founder, Joyent. \u201cWe intend to continue bringing our technical expertise to the market and reverse the typical understanding of big data implementations \u2013 that they\u2019re expensive and hard to use. We\u2019re committed to meeting the insatiable demand for faster analytics and data retrieval, changing how computing functions for the enterprise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Global telecom Telefonica was an early adopter of Joyent&#8217;s Hadoop solution. \u00a0\u00a0\u201cJoyent technology powers our service \u2013 Instant Servers \u2013 and is providing Telefonica Digital an advantage to deliver the fastest performing Hadoop big data solution in our marketplace,\u201d said Carlos Morales Paulin, Global Managing Director, M2M, Cloud Computing and Apps, Telefonica. \u201cJoyent has inversed the big data cost equation while at the same time innovating how computing on large distributed and unstructured data can be accomplished for large enterprises.
