In addition to paying almost $2 billion in cash, AT&amp;T will also give Verizon some of its AWS spectrum band licenses in &#8220;certain western markets, including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Fresno and Portland, Oregon.&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/37300\/with-clearwire-acquisition-sprint-has-a-lock-on-the-future-of-high-speed-data\/\"><em>Quartz<\/em> late last year estimated<\/a> that <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2012\/12\/18\/sprint-spectrum-holdings-analysis-257774\/\">Verizon had slightly more mobile data spectrum on hand than AT&amp;T<\/a>, although it noted that both companies could potentially be dwarfed by rival <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/sprint\">Sprint<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=s\">S<\/a>) if it <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2012\/12\/17\/sprint-clearwire-acquisition-2012\/\">completes its proposed acquisition of Clearwire<\/a>.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheBoyGeniusReport\/~4\/FAJ9oz3Z2jk\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Give Verizon (VZ) some credit \u2014 it seems willing to spread the spectrum wealth around.
