Smartphones accounted for nearly half, or 45.5%, of all mobile phone shipments, the highest percentage ever. <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/samsung\">Samsung<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=005930.KS&amp;ql=0\">005930<\/a>) and <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/apple\">Apple<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=aapl\">AAPL<\/a>) remained the two top vendors with market shares of 29% and 21.8% respectively.
