Under his watch, energy consumption in the United States declined by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/americanenergyalliance.us2.list-manage2.com\/track\/click?u=7cbc7dd79831a84c870f9842e&amp;id=4c9b3d2094&amp;e=201ef0d61b\" >2.24 percent<\/a>\u00a0while our leading economic competitor, China, increased energy consumption by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/americanenergyalliance.us2.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=7cbc7dd79831a84c870f9842e&amp;id=e760ffe5e5&amp;e=201ef0d61b\" >28 percent<\/a>.
