{"id":641661,"date":"2013-02-07T14:45:47","date_gmt":"2013-02-07T19:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.webpronews.com\/?p=215638"},"modified":"2013-02-07T14:45:47","modified_gmt":"2013-02-07T19:45:47","slug":"netflix-to-debut-pablo-escobar-drama-narcos-in-2014-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/641661","title":{"rendered":"Netflix To Debut Pablo Escobar Drama \u2018Narcos\u2019 in 2014 [REPORT]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh off the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.webpronews.com\/netflixs-new-ad-laments-spoilers-just-days-after-dropping-the-entire-season-of-house-of-cards-at-once-2013-02\">instant success<\/a> of their first big-budget series <em>House of Cards<\/em>, Netflix may already be lining up another series to expand upon their position as a true content provider and alternative to traditional cable. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2013\/02\/netflix-eyes-pablo-escobar-series-from-gaumont-international-tv-jose-padilha\/\">According to Deadline<\/a>, Netflix is eyeing a new project called <em>Narcos<\/em>, a series centered around Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. Like <em>House of Cards<\/em>, Narcos&#8217; first season would be 13 episodes. Apparently, Netflix is shooting for a 2014 release. <\/p>\n<p>The series would be created and helmed by Brazilian director <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0655683\/#Director\">Jose Padilha<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Padilha, who is best known for his 2007 film <em>Elite Squad<\/em> and the 2010 film <em>Elite Squad: The Enemy Within<\/em>, will make his break into big-budget American cinema with 2014&#8242;s <em>Robocop<\/em> remake. <\/p>\n<p>Netflix would be partnering with Gaumont International Television, the American wing of the French studio Gaumont.
