{"id":642242,"date":"2013-02-13T19:40:27","date_gmt":"2013-02-14T00:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bgr.com\/?p=325694"},"modified":"2013-02-13T19:40:27","modified_gmt":"2013-02-14T00:40:27","slug":"microsoft-now-sees-the-xbox-as-an-entertainment-console-thats-not-limited-to-gaming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/642242","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft now sees the Xbox as an \u2018entertainment\u2019 console that\u2019s not limited to gaming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/02\/13\/microsoft-xbox-transition-entertainment-console-325694\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"367\" src=\"http:\/\/boygeniusreport.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/10\/xbox-live-dashboard-2012.jpg?w=650&amp;h=367&amp;crop=1\" class=\"attachment-feed_normal wp-post-image\" alt=\"Microsoft Xbox Entertainment\" title=\"Microsoft Xbox Dashboard\" \/><\/a><\/center>There&#8217;s no doubt that the Xbox 360 is one of the best things <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/microsoft\">Microsoft<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=msft\">MSFT<\/a>) has going for itself right now \u2014 not only has <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/02\/12\/microsoft-xbox-360-sales-2013-325481\/\">the popular console sold 76 million units<\/a>, but it&#8217;s rapidly moved beyond the gaming sphere to become a well-rounded entertainment center thanks to popular content streaming apps for <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/netflix\">Netflix<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=nflx\">NFLX<\/a>) and Hulu. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2013\/02\/11\/microsoft-xbox-360-premium-content-plans-entertainment\/\">Per <em>Engadget<\/em><\/a>, Microsoft\u00a0Interactive Entertainment Business senior vice president\u00a0Yusuf Mehdi told the D: Dive Into Media conference on Tuesday that Microsoft really doesn&#8217;t see the Xbox as a mere gaming console anymore and now views it as a comprehensive &#8220;entertainment console.&#8221; And what&#8217;s more,\u00a0Mehdi said that this gives Microsoft a big long-run advantage over Sony&#8217;s (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=sne\">SNE<\/a>) rival <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/playstation\">PlayStation<\/a> console since it &#8220;isn&#8217;t as good of an entertainment console&#8221; as the Xbox.
