Dell and VMware <a href=\"http:\/\/content.dell.com\/us\/en\/corp\/d\/secure\/2013-02-27-dell-vmware-desktop-virtualization.aspx\">announced<\/a> Dell DVS Enterprise &#8211;\u00a0Active System 800, a pre-integrated system specifically designed for VMware-based VDI workloads. \u00a0Dell&#8217;s Active System serves as the foundation for its Desktop Virtualiztaion Solutions (DVS) portfolio for provisioning DVI workloads.\u00a0DVS Enterprise \u2013 Active System 800\u00a0with VMware Horizon View 5.2 combines Dell server, storage, networking, thin clients and infrastructure management software into a pre-integrated system to provide general purpose virtualized resource pools for virtual desktops. In addition, a full suite of consulting, deployment and support services are available to ease integration and ensure robust operation of the system once deployed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDell and VMware have intensified our strategic partnership for end-to-end computing,\u201d said Maryam Alexandrian, executive director of worldwide sales, channels and field marketing, Dell Cloud Client Computing. \u201cTogether we are deepening our engagement with our channel partners, accelerating our joint engineering and solution collaboration, and investing in go-to-market initiatives to address opportunities in the mid-market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Riverbed strengthens VMware alliance. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Riverbed (RVBD)\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.riverbed.com\/us\/company\/news\/press_releases\/2013\/press_022613.php\">announced<\/a> the availability of solutions developed in collaboration with VMware that can provide a reliable and consistent desktop virtualization end user experience in those organizations that deploy VMware Horizon View 5.2. Riverbed Granite has\u00a0achieved VMware Ready\u00a0status, to help\u00a0organizations to overcome the challenges of wide area networks (WAN)s, such as limited bandwidth, latency, and unforeseeable outages when delivering virtual desktops to remote locations.
