Google acquired Motorola Mobility in May of 2012 and has yet to make a big splash under new management.\u00a0Patrick Pichette, Google’s\u00a0Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, spoke today at\u00a0the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference.\u00a0During Patrick’s session, he talked about Motorola and that its products in the pipeline are\u00a0“not really to the standards that what Google would say is wow \u2014 innovative, transformative.” <\/em><\/p>\n

When Google acquired Motorola Mobility, they inherited 18 months of product pipeline.\u00a0Patrick made it clear that Google is waiting for the pipeline to end “while we’re actually building the next wave of innovation and product lines.”<\/em> The tech giant has high hopes for Motorola and urgency to do well is at an all time high.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

It was reported that tensions between Samsung and Google have been heating up<\/a>\u00a0with Samsung representing around 40% of all Android devices sold. Not only that, Samsung has sold 200 million more Android smartphones than the closest top manufacturer, but Pichette said that any rift between the two giants is overblown<\/p>\n

Google’s CFO didn’t\u00a0give a time frame on when we’ll start to see more\u00a0“innovative, transformative”<\/em>\u00a0products from Motorola, however, we may\u00a0see something<\/a>\u00a0before the end of this year.<\/p>\n
