Amy Klobuchar\" \/><\/a><\/center>Just one day after <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/03\/04\/smartphone-unlocking-white-house-359495\/\">the White House got behind efforts<\/a> to make unlocking cellphones legal again, <a href=\"http:\/\/klobuchar.senate.gov\/newsreleases_detail.cfm?id=339914&amp;\">Senator\u00a0Amy Klobuchar<\/a> (D \u2014 MN) vowed to introduce a bill this week that will &#8220;get rid of the ban on unlocking cell phones.&#8221; Both\u00a0Klobuchar and the White House were responding directly to an online petition that urged the government\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/02\/22\/cellphone-unlocking-petition-340756\/\">to reverse\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/01\/24\/smartphone-unlocking-illegal-303627\/\">a decision made by the Librarian of Congress last fall to deny consumers the right to unlock their phones<\/a>\u00a0and bring them to different carriers.
