The no-contract plans are the centerpiece of T-Mobile’s efforts<\/a> to make itself the “uncarrier” that doesn’t tie users down to long-term deals and lets them decide from month to month whether they want to stick with the service. The one downside of this, of course, is that the carrier has also eliminated its smartphone subsidy program<\/a> so users will have to pay full price for their devices going forward.<\/p>\n
