The smartphone has experienced impressive sales in Japan, even surpassing Apple&#8217;s (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=aapl\">AAPL<\/a>) <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/iphone-5\">iPhone 5<\/a> on KDDI&#8217;s network in early December, and the company has struggled to keep up with consumer demand. <a href=\"http:\/\/focustaiwan.tw\/ShowNews\/WebNews_Detail.aspx?Type=aECO&amp;ID=201303250021\">According to <em>Focus Taiwan<\/em><\/a>, Benjamin Ho, <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/htc\">HTC&#8217;s<\/a> chief marketing officer, revealed that the company is now planning to release a second-generation Butterfly to capitalize on the smartphone&#8217;s success. Earlier rumors suggested that <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/02\/05\/htc-droid-dna-sequel-rumor-m7-316490\/\">Verizon was preparing a DROID DNA sequel<\/a>, known as the DROID DNA Plus, although it <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/03\/12\/htc-one-verizon-rumor-371792\/\">featured the exact same specs as the HTC One<\/a>.
