After being forced to issue a public apology for Apple’s Maps debacle<\/a> late last year, Apple<\/a> (AAPL<\/a>) CEO Tim Cook on Monday issued an apology to Chinese consumers<\/a> for what the state media deemed to be unfair local warranty policies that differed from Apple’s policies elsewhere. As reported by Reuters<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, Cook’s plea appears to have worked \u2014 the once critical\u00a0government-run Chinese newspaper Global Times<\/em>\u00a0has issued a followup to earlier attacks stating that Apple is\u00a0“worth respect compared with other American companies.”\u00a0The Foreign Ministry also reportedly praised Apple for “conscientiously” responding to the media-driven outcry.<\/p>\n
