While that has so far served the company very well, the platform&#8217;s open-source nature means that companies such as Amazon (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=amzn\">AMZN<\/a>) and Samsung (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/q?s=005930.KS&amp;ql=0\">005930<\/a>) have been able to design their own versions of <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/android\">Android<\/a> that place less emphasis on staple Google services and more emphasis on their own.
