Rumors are circulating that Google is in talks to acquire WhatsApp<\/a>. The root appears to be Digital Trends, which cites “an inside source”<\/a> as saying the deal was started four or five weeks ago: <\/p>\n

While the deal started four or five weeks ago, we\u2019ve been told that WhatsApp is \u201cplaying hardball\u201d and jockeying for a higher acquisition price, which currently is \u201cclose to\u201d $1 billion right now.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A billion dollars, huh? <\/p>\n
