The cause of death was not revealed, though it was stated that Montiel passed out.<\/p>\n<p>Montiel began her acting career in 1944, and starred in over a dozen Spanish films before finding international fame in movies such as <em>Vera Cruz<\/em>, a 1954 western in which she co-starred with Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster.  Throughout the 60s, Montiel starred in popular films such as <em>Mi Ultimo Tango<\/em>, <em>La Bella Lola<\/em>, <em>Samba<\/em>, <em>La Femme Perdue<\/em>, and <em>Esa Mujer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Along with her acting career, Montiel was a singer who recorded songs in five different languages.  She also performed throughout Europe and Latin America.
