{"id":652204,"date":"2013-04-12T16:40:40","date_gmt":"2013-04-12T20:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bgr.com\/?p=433745"},"modified":"2013-04-12T16:40:40","modified_gmt":"2013-04-12T20:40:40","slug":"no-bottom-seen-yet-for-pc-sales-plunge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/652204","title":{"rendered":"No bottom seen yet for PC sales plunge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/12\/pc-sales-drop-analysis-433745\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"345\" src=\"http:\/\/boygeniusreport.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/laptop-trash-615cs082312.jpg?w=540&amp;h=345&amp;crop=1\" class=\"attachment-feed_normal wp-post-image\" alt=\"PC Sales Drop Analysis\" title=\"Laptop in Trash\" \/><\/a><\/center>This has been <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/10\/windows-8-pc-shipments-analysis-429262\">a pretty bad news week<\/a> for <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/microsoft\">Microsoft<\/a> and we should probably expect a lot more of them going forward. <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.barrons.com\/techtraderdaily\/2013\/04\/12\/msft-further-to-go-before-a-pc-trough-says-merrill\"><em>Barron&#8217;s<\/em> points us<\/a> to a new note from\u00a0Merrill Lynch\u00a0software analyst\u00a0Kash Rangan, who thinks that <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/04\/11\/pc-sales-decline-analysis-idc-429586\/\">PC sales haven&#8217;t come close to bottoming out yet<\/a>. In fact, Rangan estimates that &#8220;if roughly 50% of consumer PCs (20-25% of total) represent\u00a0low-end devices which are at risk of cannibalization by tablets, then PC units need\u00a0to decline by 20-25% to get to trough growth.&#8221; While this will certainly be a trying time for Microsoft and its OEM partners, Ragnan sees things stabilizing after consumers are through switching out <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/tablets\">tablets<\/a> for new PCs because Microsoft still has a &#8220;stable and nicely growing\u00a0enterprise business.&#8221;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheBoyGeniusReport\/~4\/-PP1zCsbpCQ\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This has been a pretty bad news week for Microsoft and we should probably expect a lot more of them going forward.
