{"id":653763,"date":"2013-04-11T12:37:25","date_gmt":"2013-04-11T16:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/serkadis.com\/index\/?guid=f17ec644c0080180c4804ca2622933e3"},"modified":"2013-04-11T12:37:25","modified_gmt":"2013-04-11T16:37:25","slug":"media-advisory-media-invited-to-observe-small-unmanned-aircraft-system-in-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/653763","title":{"rendered":"Media Advisory: Media Invited to Observe Small Unmanned Aircraft System in Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>sUAS Recently Evaluated for Wildlife Management Applications<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Geological Survey will work together to evaluate whether a small unmanned aircraft can save state wildlife managers time, money and offer a safer and enhanced alternative to gather greater sage-grouse data.<\/p>\n<p>During the media-only event, a USGS crew will field launch the aircraft and media will have the opportunity to take photos, video and get a first-hand look at the system.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Representatives from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the USGS, and the Bureau of Land Management will be available for interviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Friday, April 12 &#8211; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Please be punctual)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Kremmling, Colo. <\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/FyGYE\">General map from Denver<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>From the intersection of Hwy 9 and Hwy 40, travel north towards Steamboat Springs for approximately 10 miles.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>At the intersection of Grand County Road 25 and Hwy 40, north of Wolford Reservoir, look for a Colorado Parks and Wildlife vehicle parked on the right side of the road. Receive further instructions from there.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please consider:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access and event will take place along a dirt road.<\/li>\n<li>Dress for variable weather.<\/li>\n<li>Restroom facilities are not available.<\/li>\n<li>Bring food, water and other supplies.<\/li>\n<li>Proper operation of the sUAS requires concentration from the flight crew.
