Based on emails and comments received during my last Ferrari restoration (288 GTO), everyone wanted to know the steps I take BEFORE I begin the compound\/polish etc stage. What facts need to be understood prior to apply any product or machine&#8230; The information gathered before repairing the paint will dictate how you decide what products\/abrasives (or not) to use to remove the minimal amount of surface (clear or single) to save the &#8220;working life&#8221; of the paint.
