He was formerly a partner at the Monitor Group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Omidyar Network Appoints Kubzansky Vice President, Intellectual Capital<\/p>\n<p>REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 14, 2013 \/PRNewswire\/ &#8212; Omidyar Network today announced that Mike Kubzansky has joined the philanthropic investment firm in the newly created role of vice president, intellectual capital.\u00a0 Based in Washington D.C., Kubzansky will lead efforts to identify, analyze and articulate the significant trends and developments in philanthropy and impact investing and couple them with the insights gained through Omidyar Network&#8217;s global work across five initiatives. Kubzansky was formerly a partner with Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), where he co-founded and led Monitor&#8217;s Inclusive Markets practice from 2007 until he left to join Omidyar Network.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am delighted to have Mike join Omidyar Network,&#8221; said Matt Bannick, Omidyar Network&#8217;s managing partner.\u00a0 &#8220;Mike is a published thought leader with deep expertise in impact investing and businesses serving the needs of the world&#8217;s poorest populations.\u00a0 We will benefit greatly from his substantial experience and insights across the private and public sectors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While at Monitor Group, Kubzansky&#8217;s clients included commercial firms, investors, donor agencies and foundations.\u00a0 He has consulted, researched, and published extensively on market-based solutions to poverty across emerging markets.\u00a0 His work has appeared in a range of publications, including as articles in HBR, books published by Brooking Institution Press and reports sponsored by The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation.
