{"id":657905,"date":"2013-05-14T16:20:02","date_gmt":"2013-05-14T20:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bgr.com\/?p=523924"},"modified":"2013-05-14T16:20:02","modified_gmt":"2013-05-14T20:20:02","slug":"the-best-sign-yet-for-windows-8-1-microsoft-is-making-it-a-free-upgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/657905","title":{"rendered":"The best sign yet for Windows 8.1: Microsoft is making it a free upgrade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As someone who <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2012\/08\/22\/microsoft-windows-8-praise-forward-thinking-innovation\/\">admires the innovations that Microsoft made with Windows 8<\/a> while at the same time <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/05\/09\/windows-8-fix-suggestions\/\">recognizing the platform&#8217;s glaring flaws<\/a>, I&#8217;ve found it encouraging that the company has decided to own up to some of its mistakes and dial back some of the big changes it made to its operating system with the release of <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/windows-8-1\">Windows 8.1<\/a>. The new update, which <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/microsoft\">Microsoft<\/a> announced Tuesday would be <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windows\/b\/bloggingwindows\/archive\/2013\/05\/14\/windows-keeps-getting-better.aspx\">available as a public preview starting on June 26th<\/a>, will reportedly bring back the Start button as an option and give users the choice of booting up their computers in desktop mode.
