Microsoft recently announced that its Windows Phone app store is <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2013\/05\/10\/windows-phone-store-apps-number\/\">home to nearly 150,000 applications<\/a>, however the operating system is still lacking fan favorites such as Instagram, Dropbox and HBO GO. Windows Phone devices released by <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/tag\/nokia\">Nokia<\/a> and HTC <a href=\"http:\/\/bgr.com\/2012\/11\/05\/nokia-lumia-920-review\/\">have been well received by critics<\/a>, but most reviews share one common complaint \u2014 not enough good apps. Vesa Jutila, Nokia&#8217;s global head of smartphone marketing, admitted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2013\/05\/14\/nokia-marketing-head-the-biggest-complaint-is-missing-apps\">in an interview with <em>Engadget<\/em><\/a> that &#8220;the biggest complaint is that customers are missing the apps they want.&#8221; The executive noted that there were some significant gaps in the marketplace, although he claims Nokia is &#8220;addressing this very strongly&#8221; with help from Microsoft.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheBoyGeniusReport\/~4\/X0-LhdHufM0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Windows Phone platform\u00a0is in serious need of high-quality applications.
