As part of this initiative, Pantheon has offered a multi-year financial pledge to SEO. Pantheon has also committed to offer summer internships in its New York office to SEO program participants. And through participation in SEO events and workshops, Pantheon will seek to encourage more minority college undergraduates to become interested in careers in private equity. SEO is a nonprofit educational and career development organization that helps young people from underserved and underrepresented communities.<\/p>\n<p>PRESS RELEASE<\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK, May 20, 2013\u2014Pantheon, a leading global private equity fund investor, today announced that it will partner with non-profit Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) in an initiative designed to both further advance minority hiring at the firm and increase the pool of minority candidates interested in careers in the private equity industry.<br \/>\nPantheon has made a multi-year financial pledge as well as a commitment to offer summer internships in its New York office to SEO program participants. In addition, through active participation in SEO events, including educational workshops, Pantheon will seek to help encourage more minority college undergraduates to become interested in careers in private equity.<br \/>\nSEO continues to expand its footprint in the alternatives sector through diversity initiatives at the undergraduate, full-time analyst and experienced professional level. This joint initiative provides undergraduates with career access to unique paid summer analyst positions in private equity, enabling them to gain invaluable skills and experience.<br \/>\nPartnering with SEO advances an existing commitment at Pantheon to diversity. Currently, 15% of Pantheon\u2019s U.S.-based employees, including a quarter of the New York office, are from underrepresented minority groups, a significant increase from 6% three years ago.
