Even more impressive, the CEO noted that roughly half of those devices were sold in the past year alone. <a href=\"http:\/\/tech.fortune.cnn.com\/2013\/05\/29\/apple-tvs-market-share\/\">Philip Elmer-DeWitt of <em>Fortune<\/em> crunched the numbers<\/a> and found that Apple controls more than half of the digital media receiver market. Not including dedicated gaming systems such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Apple TV has a 71% share of the market.
