This project is easy an inexpensive to make and will accent your dining or living room. It is relatively easy to work with styrofoam. That is one of the reasons I chose this craft, so let&#8217;s get started.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_134919\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 510px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-134919\" src=\"http:\/\/images1.blisstree.com\/files\/2009\/12\/IMG_03711.jpg\" alt=\"Kathy Zengolewicz\" width=\"500\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kathy Zengolewicz<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Here is a list of supplies that you will need:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A 2 \u00bd\u201d craft foam egg<\/li>\n<li>craft foam balls: one 5\u201d and one 1 \u00bd\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A sheet of white tissue paper<\/li>\n<li>A sheet of 8\u201d x 11\u201d white cardstock (I used unruled index cards)<\/li>\n<li>2 pearl or colored head pins (I used blue)<\/li>\n<li>Two 2\u201d white glitter snowflakes (optional)<\/li>\n<li>One 12\u201d-16\u201d crystal decorative branch<\/li>\n<li>Modge Podge or other decoupage laminate\/sealer<\/li>\n<li>craft glue<\/li>\n<li>craft knife<\/li>\n<li>paint brush, pencil, scissors and toothpicks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Using a craft knife, cut off 1\/3 of the 5\u201d ball. Cut one thin slice from the small ball and discard the slices.<\/p>\n<p>Make the bird body by inserting a toothpick between one egg and the flat edge of the small ball.\u00a0 Apply glue and press it together. Hold for a minute until it starts to stick.<\/p>\n<p>Tear the tissue paper into small pieces. Brush the foam body with Modge Podge, completely covering the entire egg and cover the body with the tissue paper. Brush on a second coat of Modge Podge, over the tissue and coat the whole body again. Sprinkle with glitter and let it dry.<\/p>\n<p>Using the cardstock or index card, draw a beak, wing and a tail. Cut all of these out and brush them with the decoupage and sprinkle with glitter. Let them dry and repeat the process on the other side.<\/p>\n<p>When dry, glue the beak, wings and tail to the body. Apply the pearl or colored pins in the small foam ball (head) and use them for the eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Insert the branch into the ball base and either glue the bird to the base or insert toothpicks into the base and the bottom of the bird. If you are using the 2&#8243; white glitter snowflakes, glue the to the base.<\/p>\n<p>There you have it.
