{"id":70933,"date":"2009-12-08T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-08T14:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"tag:blog.cookingwithtraderjoes.com,2009-12-08:02bed079-8a75-45a2-894d-fb3a714c90a3"},"modified":"2009-12-08T09:04:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-08T14:04:00","slug":"fig-prosciutto-roll-ups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/70933","title":{"rendered":"Fig &amp; Prosciutto Roll-Ups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 267px;\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/2\/4\/6\/4\/2\/133294-124642\/FigProsciuttoRollUps1.JPG?a=80\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\">With holiday season parties in sight, it&#8217;s nice to have easy appetizers you can count on.&nbsp; That&#8217;s what we had in mind when we ran our holiday appetizer contest last week, and today we&#8217;re sharing one of the winners.<br \/><font face=\"Arial\"><br \/><\/font><font size=\"3\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><font size=\"2\"><font face=\"Arial\">Michelle<br \/>\nT. sent us this classy and easy appetizer idea.&nbsp; We loved the<br \/>\ncontrast of flavors and textures: creamy goat cheese with crisp arugula, and sweet figs with salty<br \/>\nprosciutto.&nbsp; It&#8217;s an easy appetizer you can make ahead and keep in the fridge until show time.<\/p>\n<p>Figs and prosciutto are a classic Italian flavor combination, fit for any celebration.&nbsp; For a warm version, bake figs stuffed with goat cheese or gorgonzola cheese and wrapped in prosciutto.&nbsp; Or use them as toppings on a gourmet pizza.<\/font><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<div> <\/div>\n<p>So whether you&#8217;re hosting holiday get-togethers or bringing a dish to a potluck, you can impress guests with delicious and easy appetizers that take only minutes to prepare. To see other recipe winners in our holiday appetizer contest, <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.aweber.com\/b\/OyZw\">click here<\/a> for our December newsletter.<\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><strong>Fig &amp; Prosciutto Roll-Ups<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<div><font size=\"2\">1 (4- or 5-oz) pkg prosciutto<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">1 (5-oz) pkg goat cheese, at room temperature<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">2 cups arugula, loosely packed<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">1\/2 cup chopped dried figs<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">Black pepper <br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">1. Lay prosciutto slices out a sheet of Saran wrap, slightly overlapping the slices until you have a rectangle of approx. 6 x 14 inches, and have it facing you in landscape orientation.&nbsp; (We found it helpful to use a double layer of prosciutto, since the thin layers are quite fragile.)<br \/><\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">2. Spread goat cheese on prosciutto, being careful not to tear prosciutto.&nbsp; Lay arugula evenly on goat cheese, leaving a 1\/2-inch border on the far long edge; this will make it easier to &#8220;seal&#8221; the log when you&#8217;re done rolling. Scatter chopped figs over arugula<\/font><font size=\"2\">, and sprinkle liberally with cracked black pepper.<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">3. Using Saran wrap, roll the prosciutto up along the long edge, pressing down to &#8220;tighten&#8221; roll up. Wrap roll in the Saran Wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour. &nbsp;<\/font><\/div>\n<div><font size=\"2\">4.
