{"id":74996,"date":"2009-12-10T15:41:40","date_gmt":"2009-12-10T20:41:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blisstree.com\/?p=135405"},"modified":"2009-12-10T15:41:40","modified_gmt":"2009-12-10T20:41:40","slug":"usda-recalling-dog-treats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/74996","title":{"rendered":"USDA Recalling Dog Treats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Food and Drug Administration is recalling a number of pig ear and beef hoof dog treats due to fear of <strong>salmonella bacteria<\/strong> contamination.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images1.blisstree.com\/files\/2009\/12\/pigear.jpg\" alt=\"pigear\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-135407\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Manufactured under the names <strong>Doggie Delight<\/strong>, <strong>Pork Tasteez<\/strong> and <strong>Pet Carousel<\/strong>, and packaged under the brand names <strong>Choo Hooves<\/strong>, <strong>Dentley&#8217;s<\/strong>, <strong>Doggie Delight<\/strong> and <strong>Pet Carousel<\/strong>, the ears and hooves were distributed nationwide in both bulk and retail packaging for sale in pet food and retail chain stores. <\/p>\n<p>All sizes and all lots of the pork ears purchased on or after August 16, and all beef hoof products purchased on or after September 16 are included in the recall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salmonella infections<\/strong> in pets infections may cause lethargy and diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, or abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans.<\/p>\n<p>Pet owners who have purchased the affected products are asked to take the treats away from their dogs and <strong>return them<\/strong> to the place of purchase.
