I was on Metformin 3 years ago,and went into the beginnings of renal failure. So they took me off of it. And no one thought about it after that. My mom is newly diagnoised with Type 2 and was put on Metformin. She went into renal failure and was in the hospital. When she came home,her Dr. put her right back on it. So it got me thinking. I called my Dr. and explained about my 85 year old mom.So she put me back on 500mg a day. I read the pamphlet and it said if you are on ,and stated all these meds. and I am on Medrol(a steroid )and Morphine sulfate,among other medications. So my pharmacist said,it can goof up your metabolism. He was super busy so I let him go. My Dr. is out of town for a week. The question,by &quot;mess up your metabolism&quot; is that dangerous? I have had a hard time controlling my sugar a lone. I have Lupus,MS,and numerous other things wrong with me. I don&#8217;t want to do something that could harm me.
