Here is what you will need to get started:<\/h4>\n\n- A 12\u201d styrofoam cone<\/li>\n
- Acrylic craft pain, red<\/li>\n
- A strand of\u00a0 Christmas\u00a0 garland (6 foot \u2013 I found a small Christmas ball ornament garland)<\/li>\n
- A small ornament for the top<\/li>\n
- Small plastic snowflakes<\/li>\n
- Floral wire or u-shaped floral pins<\/li>\n
- Wire cutters<\/li>\n
- A Paintbrush<\/li>\n
- Low temperature glue gun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Paint the styrofoam cone red and let it dry. If you’re using floral wire, cut the wire in 3 or 3 \u00bd inch lengths and bend them into a u-shape.<\/p>\n
Starting at the bottom, glue the garland to the cone and insert floral pins or u-shape floral wire between the balls for an extra hold.\u00a0 Continue wrapping the garland around the cone until covered. You may need to play with the garland a little to make sure it is sitting right. Arrange it to your liking.<\/p>\n
Place the snowflakes between the rows of garland, spacing them as necessary. Put the small ornament on the top of the tree. You may need to put a small slice in the top of the cone to hold the top ornament.<\/p>\n
You can make these tree in any color you choose. I have one in red, one in blue and one in green. You can place them on your lamp or coffee table, they make a beautiful decoration and they cost pennies to make.<\/p>\n
You can also place the tree in a small styrofoam bowl and use it as a base. Sprinkle some fake snow around the bottom for a nice effect.<\/p>\n
If you’re giving them as gifts they fit very nicely in wine bottle bags. Expects your friends to be surprised when the open the gift and find a tree instead of a bottle of wine.<\/p>\n
