{"id":78173,"date":"2009-12-12T13:29:44","date_gmt":"2009-12-12T18:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.diabetesforums.com\/forum\/diabetes\/46603-bgls-and-ketones.html"},"modified":"2009-12-12T13:29:44","modified_gmt":"2009-12-12T18:29:44","slug":"bgls-and-ketones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/78173","title":{"rendered":"BGL&#8217;s and ketones"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Hi again, <\/p>\n<p>Thursday, when Eri got her CGMS, her bgl&#8217;s were great, up until about 3pm&#8230;then they were in the 50&#8217;s(with eating).  <br \/>\nAfter the whole day of them staying between 55-60, they went up to HI(a little after midnight).  She had no ketones at that time.<br \/>\nWhen she woke up in the morning(after she and I both checking her bgl throughout the night and insulin)&#8230;she was still HI and had a trace of ketones.  <br \/>\nFinally, around noon(and a call in to her CDE) her bgl dropped to 203.  It finally went down after that to around 103 and is now 88, but she now has moderate ketones.  It&#8217;s beyond frustrating!<br \/>\nShe at a good dinner of chicken and some potato and salad last night, but she had the heart palps like crazy.<br \/>\nNo vomiting, thank God.<br \/>\nThe CDE said she was glad that Eri at least has the CGMS so that they can go by that as well as her glucometer and her patient log that she is keeping.  She&#8217;s been extremely thorough with that. <br \/>\nShe&#8217;s beyond frustrated bc she has no symptoms of lows anymore and she is a bit scared bc she never has symptoms of Hi&#8217;s until she&#8217;s vomiting.  <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s to hoping she won&#8217;t end up in the hospital and that she can just correct herself.<br \/>\nShe&#8217;s drinking gatorade and bolusing in, so hopefully the insulin will start working.<br \/>\nThe other night, w\/ all the HI readings, it took about 12 hours bc it went down to 201(and about 40 units of humalog and her 38 of lantus and 18 of NPH).<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi again, Thursday, when Eri got her CGMS, her bgl&#8217;s were great, up until about 3pm&#8230;then they were in the 50&#8217;s(with eating).
