{"id":83732,"date":"2009-12-15T01:28:00","date_gmt":"2009-12-15T06:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"tag:blog.cookingwithtraderjoes.com,2009-12-14:e86ee98c-195e-4d83-93d3-c5e96f6eb783"},"modified":"2009-12-15T01:28:00","modified_gmt":"2009-12-15T06:28:00","slug":"baked-brie-whats-not-to-love","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/83732","title":{"rendered":"Baked Brie: What&#8217;s not to love?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 267px;\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/2\/4\/6\/4\/2\/133294-124642\/BriewithPear.JPG?a=33\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\"><\/p>\n<div> <\/div>\n<p>Baked Brie is a favorite special treat in our household.&nbsp; I love it , my young kids love it, and it&#8217;s always a hit with guests.&nbsp;&nbsp; My go-to recipe is the &#8220;Apricot Baked Brie&#8221; that appears in our <a  href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0979938414?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=coowittrajoes-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0979938414\">cookbook<\/a>, but I&nbsp; haven&#8217;t yet met a variation of melted Brie that I haven&#8217;t liked.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve had it topped with preserves (apricot and raspberry are my favorites), nuts, wrapped in puff pastry, topped with chutney or a sprinkle of curry powder, sweet or savory.&nbsp; Served simply with crackers, crusty bread, or apple slices, it truly must be one of the world&#8217;s easiest and tastiest appetizers.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Trader Joe&#8217;s has a wonderful selection of soft and creamy Brie cheeses. This time of year they also have their Brie wheels in addition to their usual wedges.&nbsp; If you like the idea of brioche-wrapped Bries with near-zero-effort, Trader Joe&#8217;s has three variations ready to go:&nbsp; <em>En Croute <\/em>(plain); Cranberry, Apricot, Almond, &amp; Brandy; and a savory Mushroom &amp; Chive. &nbsp; Experimenting with your own baked Brie variations is almost as easy!<\/p>\n<p>The recipe featured here today comes from one of our readers, Stephanie, and it has become one of our new favorites.&nbsp; Stephanie says &#8220;<font face=\"Futura, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">It\u2019s divine and a snap to put together! Sometimes my husband and I make this just for ourselves to enjoy with a chilled bottle of white wine or champagne.&#8221; Thanks Stephanie!&nbsp; My husband loved it as well.&nbsp; He commented that the lightness of the pear chunks was a terrific contract to the richness of the Brie.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><\/font><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<div class=\"ExternalClass\" id=\"MsgContainer\"><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><font size=\"2\"><strong>Cinnamon-Pear Baked Brie<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">1 Brie wheel <br \/>1 jar of pears in juice<br \/>1 baguette or any crusty bread loaf from Trader Joe&#8217;s fresh baked bread section<br \/>1\/4 tsp cinnamon<br \/>Hazelnuts or pecan bits (optional<font size=\"1\">)<br \/><font size=\"1\"><br \/><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><font size=\"2\">1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.<br \/>2.) Slice off the very top rind of the Brie and discard.&nbsp; Place Brie inside oven-proof casserole dish or on top of a cookie sheet, face up.<\/font><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/><font size=\"2\">3.) Cut up 3-4 pear halves into big chunks and scatter overtop of Brie.<\/font><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/><font size=\"2\">4.) Sprinkle cinnamon over top of pears, and a couple hazelnuts or pecan bits if desired<\/font><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">.<br \/><font size=\"2\">5.) Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes<\/font><\/span><\/font><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><font size=\"2\"> or until Brie is starting to melt (ovens may vary).<br \/>6.)
