{"id":86097,"date":"2009-12-17T00:16:06","date_gmt":"2009-12-17T05:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"tag:www.vegan-food.net:\/\/19afc723ee247b81a9bc22a2aae2359b"},"modified":"2009-12-17T00:16:06","modified_gmt":"2009-12-17T05:16:06","slug":"deli-style-cheesecake-cakes-cheesecake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/86097","title":{"rendered":"Deli Style Cheesecake( Cakes &#8211; Cheesecake )"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Daily Random Recipe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul><UL><br \/>\n<LI>1 1\/4 cups water<br \/>\n<LI>2\/3 cup maple syrup<br \/>\n<LI>1\/2 cup brown rice syrup<br \/>\n<LI>1\/2 cup raw cashew pieces<br \/>\n<LI>1\/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice<br \/>\n<LI>4 T agar flakes<br \/>\n<LI>3 T arrowroot or cornstarch<br \/>\n<LI>1 T vanilla extract<br \/>\n<LI>1 t salt<br \/>\n<LI>1 lb \/ 450 g tofu, drained and crumbled (firm, regular is recommended, but others work just as well in my experience)<br \/>\n<LI>1 prepared cheesecake crust<br \/>\n<\/UL><\/ul>\n<p \/><strong>METHOD:<\/strong><br \/>Preheat your oven to 350F\/180C. Place all of the ingredients, except the tofu, in a blender or food processor and mix until smooth and creamy. Pour half of the mixture into a bowl and set it aside.<br \/>\n\t<P>Gradually add half of the crumbled tofu to the mixture in the food processor, and blend once again until completely smooth. Pour the mixture carefully and evenly into a prepared crust. Do the same again with the remaining tofu and reserved mixture. Smooth out the top with a rubber spatula.<br \/>\n\t<P>Bake for 1 hour, cool at room temperature, and then chill at least four hours before serving. The top will crack while cooling, just like &#8216;real&#8217; cheesecake. <\/p>\n<p \/><strong>NOTES:<\/strong><br \/>This recipe was recently posted and is the best i&#8217;ve tried. I believe it came from &#8216;The Uncheese Cookbook&#8217; by Joanne Stepaniak. I keep meaning to buy it one of these days.<br \/>\n\t<P><I>Serving suggestions<\/I>: Top with fresh berries, peach slices, or a fresh compote.<br \/>\n\t<P><I>Substitutions<\/I>: In place of flaked agar &#8211; 2 t powdered agar.
