{"id":94112,"date":"2009-12-22T12:26:27","date_gmt":"2009-12-22T17:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"2144"},"modified":"2009-12-22T12:26:27","modified_gmt":"2009-12-22T17:26:27","slug":"financial-aid-need-up-20-percent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/94112","title":{"rendered":"Financial aid need up 20 percent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P><SPAN class=heading2>Published Dec. 17, 2009<BR><\/SPAN>By Lena Vargas, KEPR TV<\/P><P><A href=\"http:\/\/www.keprtv.com\/news\/local\/79582337.html\" ><IMG style=\"MARGIN: 5px 5px 5px 0px\" height=28 alt=\"Play Video\" src=\"http:\/\/www.columbiabasin.edu\/images\/1532462192007image_video.jpg\" width=95 align=left border=0><\/A><BR><BR><BR>PASCO&#8211;More people are going back to school and that means competition for financial aid is big.<\/P><P>Nationwide a growing number of non-traditional students are filling campuses and filling financial aid offices.<\/P><P>Ceci Ratliff with CBC\u0092s Financial Aid Office says it\u0092s seen a twenty percent increase in the number of students who need financial aid.<\/P><P>&#8220;A lot of the people who have just now completed files have been at cbc in the past, so that tells me they might have stopped out, found themselves without a job,\u0094 said Ratcliff.<\/P><P>Students have to compete with whatever dollars are left. This is a year when the state has cut 14 percent of the school&#8217;s funding, with more cuts possible next year.<\/P><P>It\u0092s something high school seniors need to consider now.
