There are some very witty and clever folks out there. (The level of my wit is at about, \u201cA horse walks into a bar. The bartender asks, \u2018Why the long face?\u2019\u201d And my clever rating maxed out after I finished the \u2018Pick a Peck of Puzzles\u2019 book that I ordered from Scholastic Books in 6th grade.) So today I thought I would dispense with the usual information and pass along this poem that a few nice readers sent to me yesterday (thank you!).<\/p>\n

And until the usual mortgage news, market info, and investor updates return on Monday, have a Merry Christmas!<\/p>\n

T\u2019was The Week Before Christmas<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

T\u2019was the week before Christmas
\nWhen all through the lands,
\nLO\u2019s and Closers were wringing their hands.<\/p>\n

RESPA changes are coming,
\nThey all started to worry,
\nWe\u2019d better get trained, and get trained in a hurry!<\/p>\n

We all kept on hoping
\nThere would be a delay.
\nBut HUD said, \u201cNo Way,\u201d it\u2019s all here to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love our new HUD
\nAnd our new GFE,
\nDon\u2019t fret, don\u2019t worry, it\u2019s as simple as can be.\u201d<\/p>\n

We all shook our heads,
\nThrew our hands to the sky.
\nWhat were you smoking? You must have been high!<\/p>\n

You took a one page doc
\nAnd changed it to three.
\nEasier? More simple? How can that be?<\/p>\n

The Regs don\u2019t match up,
\nSo now what do we do?
\nHUD says, \u201cNo comment, It\u2019s all up to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

No info on TILA,
\nHMDA, REG B.
\nWe are totally screwed, why can\u2019t they see??<\/p>\n

In a time when some borrowers
\nThink lenders are scary,
\nYou\u2019ve given 3 pages to make them more wary.<\/p>\n

This doesn\u2019t make sense,
\nNot one little bit.
\nWe are all trying hard to not throw a fit.<\/p>\n

So we will all do our best
\nTo put borrowers at ease.
\nBut make more reform, please, please, please!<\/p>\n

Please bring someone in
\nWho knows just what to do.
\nWhat is best for both borrowers AND lenders too.<\/p>\n

We are all still waiting,
\nThough not holding our breath
\nAnd hoping the government doesn\u2019t \u201cReg\u201d us to death.<\/p>\n

So, on this week before Christmas,
\nI\u2019d like to wish you
\nGood luck with RESPA, I need it too!<\/p>\n
