(03 Dec)<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ageconcern.org.uk\/AgeConcern\/care-quality-commission-response-031209.asp\">Age Concern and Help the Aged<\/a><\/strong> have responded to the CQC\u2019s report, describing the state of care homes as \u2018unacceptable\u2019 and calling on the Government to ensure the CQC has adequate resources for regular inspections. (03 Dec)<\/p>\n<p>Responding to Ipsos MORI research finding that 1 in 6 carers is forced to give up work, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carersuk.org\/Newsandcampaigns\/News\/1259922594\">Carers UK<\/a><\/strong> have called on carers to check they get all the practical and financial support on offer. (04 Dec)<\/p>\n<p><strong>General<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ageconcern.org.uk\/AgeConcern\/pay-the-price-041209.asp\">Age Concern and Help the Aged<\/a> <\/strong>have stated that pensioners must not pay the price for the recession. (30 Nov)<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cqc.org.uk\/\/newsandevents\/newsstories.cfm?cit_id=35741&amp;FAArea1=customWidgets.content_view_1&amp;usecache=false\">Care Quality Commission<\/a><\/strong> has released statements about the chairwoman Baroness Barbara Young stepping down in February 2010. (05 Dec)<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basw.co.uk\/Default.aspx?tabid=54&amp;articleID=1039\">British Association of Social Workers<\/a><\/strong> has welcomed the Social Work Task Force\u2019s final report, recommending a reformed training system and a college of social work. The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gscc.org.uk\/News+and+events\/Media+releases\/media_release_01-12-09.htm\">General Social Care Council<\/a><\/strong> has also welcomed the recommendations.
