Mian Channu MNA Aslam Bodla said at least eight school kids are at the hospital in serious condition.
He said the thick fog coupled with the unmanned Railway Crossing with no gate has been the cause of the accident, adding he had recommended to the government to take action to erect gates at these three Railway Crossing; but no action was taken, resultantly the accident occurred.
The Jafferabad Express coming from Quetta hit the school van standing at the Railway Crossing Gate near Musa Virk at 815am.
The bodies of five children were taken to Tehsil Headquarter hospital. The deceased including Safdar, Tanveer, Shahbaz and Faisal.
