About Us:
The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) www.dss.virginia.gov, Division of Public Affairs, is looking for a multimedia intern. Our Home Office is located at 8th & Main Streets in the heart of Richmond’s financial district.
VDSS administers social services programs through 121 local departments of social services (LDSS) throughout the state. About The Multimedia Internship:
VDSS presents information to our stakeholders and customers in a variety of formats including: interactive websites, video and audio. We would like to expand our capabilities. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for creativity in these formats and a basic understanding of video and audio production.
About You:
If you’re talented, frequently find yourself creating, editing and uploading videos or mixing audio and the skill set (Vegas, Photoshop, DreamWeaver) to actually make it happen – we want to talk to you!
About The Benefits:
You get to work on the 15th floor with an award-winning public affairs team, who have great passion for what they do and lots of fun while they’re doing it! You’ll be creating static and interactive graphics, animations and more. This is an unpaid internship, but everything you create becomes part of your portfolio. You’ll get great experience, plus class credits from VCU. You must be dependable, stick to a schedule and handle positive feedback. Throughout your internship, our public affairs team will help you build your professional skill set, including: presenting ideas to internal clients, taking your ideas from concept to implementation, managing multiple projects and working on diverse professional teams.
About Your Schedule:
We’re flexible, but need to set-up a weekly schedule that works for everyone during the Spring Semester 2010.
We are located at 801 East Main Street, Richmond, VA 23219 on the GRTC bus line.
