Senior Developer

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of wind and solar power development projects from pre-feasibility analysis to construction completion, including project schedule and budget.
  • Conduct project site prospecting and analysis.
  • Lead team of land agents on land acquisition process of project sites.
  • Work with internal colleagues and consultants to estimate project costs, assess wind or solar resource, determine interconnection feasibility and project constructability, and define overall project economics.
  • Establish strategy and implementation of project permitting, positioning and managing overall community relations.
  • Assist in negotiations of power purchase agreements and asset purchase agreements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to define and implement marketing strategy for project energy output.
  • Present project opportunities to senior management for capital investment and assist in prospective acquisition due diligence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree a plus
  • 5 + years experience in renewable energy project development
  • Proven success in developing wind and/or solar energy projects through a complete lifecycle
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with a variety of common renewable energy financing structures
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and project management
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within, and manage, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Willingness to undertake substantial travel within the U.S.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and impeccable organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of databases and Windows-based business software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of GIS-based software and databases
