Responsibilities
- Build and manage a portfolio of wind and solar power development projects from pre-feasibility analysis to construction completion, including project schedule and budget.
- Conduct project site prospecting and analysis.
- Lead team of land agents on land acquisition process of project sites.
- Work with internal colleagues and consultants to estimate project costs, assess wind or solar resource, determine interconnection feasibility and project constructability, and define overall project economics.
- Establish strategy and implementation of project permitting, positioning and managing overall community relations.
- Assist in negotiations of power purchase agreements and asset purchase agreements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to define and implement marketing strategy for project energy output.
- Present project opportunities to senior management for capital investment and assist in prospective acquisition due diligence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree a plus
- 5 + years experience in renewable energy project development
- Proven success in developing wind and/or solar energy projects through a complete lifecycle
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience with a variety of common renewable energy financing structures
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and project management
- Self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within, and manage, multi-disciplinary teams
- Willingness to undertake substantial travel within the U.S.
- Meticulous attention to detail and impeccable organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of databases and Windows-based business software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of GIS-based software and databases
