Eco Factor: Concept pedal-powered tricycle.
We’ve reported about a range of folding bicycles that can be carried with ease and used whenever need be. Industrial designer Gyula Tiszai is taking this a step further by designing a tricycle for urban commuters who hate riding to the office on two wheels. Dubbed the Tringa, the concept tricycle has a collapsible frame that eases carriage.
Unlike conventional pedal-powered vehicles, the Tringa has an alternating swinging level drive and a rope transmission that makes the vehicle easy to drive and more comfortable. The designer has also built a prototype of the Tringa, which can be seen working in the video below.
