Let people know you’re on your way with OnMyWay

My best friend isn’t the most punctual person I’ve met. My friends and I have developed a sort of code to determine when he’ll show up somewhere. If he says five minutes, it means 15. If he says 10 it means 30. Fifteen means between 30 and an hour. If he says he’s a half hour away, well, we might be waiting a while. The problem, really, is that there’s no way to hold him accountable for his predictions. He knows how far away he is, but wants to soften the blow. If he had the OnMyWay app from Telenav, though, he wouldn’t be able to exaggerate his arrival time.

Of course, the application requires a bit of willingness from the sender. He or she has to set the application for notification before leaving. So, in other words, my best friend could simply not set it. It would defeat the purpose of the application, but it would allow him to continue his ruses.

The application notifies recipients by SMS or email, so it’s flexible enough to work with other BlackBerry users or those on other platforms, including feature phones. It’s good for work and personal uses, though I imagine that professionals would get a bit more use out of it. With your friends it’s just easier to let everyone know your best estimate — even if that estimate is off by more than a bit.

There’s little downside to giving OnMyWay a try. The application is free in App World. You can get it here.
