We recent illustrated in a handy chart of sold Android phones in the market the issue of Android fragmentation, most phones were on Android 1.5. In a chart just released by Google showing Android Platform Versions; we can see there are more users on Android 2.1 at 37.2%, followed by Android 1.5 at 34.1 then Android 1.6 at 28%. With Google I/O starting tomorrow we expect to see Android 2.2 (Froyo) debut, which could add to more fragmentation, however it is rumored this version makes updating easier hopefully easing the scattered pains.
