Eco Factor: Bicycle lane designed to let you ride above traffic.
Kolelinia is a concept bike lane designed by Bulgarian architect Martin Angelov, that will allow bikers to soar about traffic on a mini-highway designed in the sky. The lane will feature a series of towers connected by steel wires with a U-shaped rim.
The connectors and wires will be similar to a ski lift, but here it won’t make use of any electricity. On approaching this lane, bicyclists will ride up to the entrance and put their bike tires into the U-shaped rim and attach their specialized handle to the safety wire.
After getting onto the lane, all you have to do is to ride your bike above traffic as you do on a regular pavement. The designer believes that this unique lane can be installed using minimal amount of resources, and allow bicyclists to ride safe above the road.
