I am trying to help a friend of mine as well as trying to understand the used market well to buy a new car soon (maybe in the next 6 months). My friend wants to pick up a car with the following limitations
- ·Needs to be Petrol to ensure that he does not need to have high maintenance
- ·Should be powerful and fun to drive
- ·Monthly usage would be about 500kms
- ·Bachelor so not much use of the back seat or a huge boot
- ·Would be used for highway driving as well once in a month
- ·F.E is not that important, though its a consideration as well
- ·Handling and safety would be more important
Based on the above limitations, I suggested him to go for a Palio 1.6 GTX (thanks for the various reviews in Tbhp). I did put across a disclaimer that it would be a tough find if you do get one. He has been searching ever since (1 month now) and hasnt been able to find any decent car. He did come across a Palio 1.6 which was a LPG version which he is not too sure about.
Now for the questions, which I need assistance with
- Is my suggestion correct? What other cars would you recommend
- How worthwhile is it to pick up a LPG Palio? Any change in performance since Petrol has not been used for a while.
- In addition to the other checks mentioned in buying a car section, is there anything else that he should be checking in the car (Palio specific check)?
- Since he is buying from a different state, what charges would he have to incur other than the registration charges.
