With smartphones growing at rapid rates, most major websites have added mobile applications in addition to their WAP sites. This is positive for BlackBerry users, since people seem to complain a lot about the browser. With a full-featured app, we can use the features of our favorite sites without suffering through BlackBerry browser travails. Instead we get a custom-designed user interface. The latest major website to get a BlackBerry overhaul: match.com, the popular dating site. Users can now browse through the site and use its features in a more intuitive manner.
The application is pretty simple. It allows you to search through singles on the go, communicate with possible matches, and manage your photos. That’s really all the site needs to do in the first place, so it’s fitting that the app has only these basic features. Yet it’s pretty big, 1.4MB, so make sure you have some free hard drive space if you plan to install this app.
For those who don’t have the memory, the mobile site, m.match.com, will still operate as normal. I know some people aren’t that keen on WAP sites, so maybe the BlackBerry application represents an upgrade. I wouldn’t know, because in order to download the app you apparently have to register in order to download. Oh well. If any readers use the app, let us know how it’s going for you.
To download, head to match.com from your BlackBerry or desktop browser and select Mobile from the links at the bottom. Normal Match.com limitations, including fees for premium service, apply.
